Duties and Responsibilities: Report to the AM – Financial Reporting and General Accounting (or equivalent) Perform the periodic financial statement closing process. Prepare adjusting, closing and/or reversing entries, including, but not limited to, amortization and depreciation, revenue and expense accruals and reversals, inventory movement and reconciliation, revaluation, reclass and segment allocations Recognize financial transactions based on the substance and nature of the underlying documents, including any tax effects. Ensure that all significant transactions are properly supported and calculated. Coordinate with other department, as necessary, to ascertain proper recognition and compliance with existing policies and procedures User of Oracle Financials system as the medium to record all financial transactions and utilize the same system to monitor executed tasks and data as necessary. Identify any systems issues or improvement points in the course of use and escalate the same for proper resolution. Prepare and maintain schedules of significant balance sheet and income statement accounts. Assist in the analysis and understanding of movements of key balances/accounts and raise/investigate transactions that are unusual or not within expectation, if any Perform inventory and fixed asset counts and reconciliations in coordination with Asset Management and Warehouse teams Undertake clerical and administrative tasks as may be necessary: filing and scanning accounting-related documents, maintain monitoring tools related to financial transactions processing Support other team members on other accounting-related tasks, as may be required Undertake other ad-hoc accounting related projects and tasks, as may be necessary
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a Finance-related course (Accountancy, Business Management etc.) Certified Public Accountant is a plus 1-3 years related experience in audit, accounting, tax and/or bookkeeping function Experience in rail or transport industry is a plus Has knowledge in fundamental accounting and tax concepts Average proficiency in Microsoft Office Basic knowledge in creating and managing policies and procedures Must be flexible and comfortable to work extended hours as needed Proficient in both Filipino and English language (oral and written) Ability to communicate and establish good working relationships across all departments and different levels within the organization Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Detail-oriented, flexible and multi-tasker
