Sintang Paaralan received an over-all Three Star rating from the QS Stars university rating system early in February of this year. This effort of the PUP Administration to improve its international recognition and institutional reputation is part of the university’s strategic plan to achieve its vision of becoming the country’s National Polytechnic University (NPU).
“It is our responsibility as a learning institution to continue to improve. We are taking these evaluations constructively to move forward and give our best and most excellent service to our students and stakeholders,” President Manuel Muhi said.
As explained by QS Stars, “(A) university with a Three Star rating is well-recognized nationally and may have also begun to attract international recognition. This institution maintains a reputable level of teaching and its graduates are attractive to employers.”
Further, the QS Three Star Institutions “show potential in achieving international education standards and undertake complex research activities, experimenting with pedagogical teaching.”
The University’s strengths and areas of expertise are recognized with star badges as follows:
5 Stars (Excellent) • Employability • Online Learning
4 Stars (Very Good) • Teaching • Academic Development • Inclusiveness
3 Stars (Good) • Social Responsibility • Specialist Criteria: Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics (BSND)
Encouraged by these results, the PUP Administration is determined to further improve its performance on its four-plus-one function namely: instruction, research, extension and production + internationalization by revisiting its institutional development plan with the view to crafting a more focused internationalization program that will seize the best opportunities for personal and professional growth of its community members, especially its students.
