Journalism professor takes 3rd place in Singapore Photography Competition

Professor Jophel Botero Ybiosa of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Communication takes third place in the international category at the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) Co-op Hot Shots Competition on April 13.

"3rd Place Winner in International Category! Big thanks to Co-op Hot Shots Competition jury and Singapore National Co-operative Federation! To God be the glory!" Ybiosa posted in his facebook account.

Prof. Ybiosa is one of the Department of Journalism's new part-time faculty members, teaching Digital Imaging and Photojournalism. He is also a PUP COC alumnus graduate.

Last April 15, he was named as one of the 2020-2021 Professional Photographers Asia Community (PPAC) Top 10 International Photographers. He entered the online competition and placed first in the People and Culture category in the first half, and second in the Smartphone Landscape category in the second half.

Prof. Ybiosa has also been named one of Aspire Magazine Philippines' Top 100 Photographers in the country.
