2 PUP College of Law Faculty Members Promoted as Judge, Deputy Ombudsman

JUDGE GENER M. GITO

Atty. Gener M. Gito, a faculty member of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-College of Law, was appointed as Judge in Bataan province last July 2014.

Judge Gito obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree at the University of Batangas. He finished Bachelor of Laws at the San Sebastian College-Recoletos. He had his Master of Laws at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and is now taking his Doctor of Laws at the University of Santo Tomas.

Before becoming a Judge, Atty. Gito worked as a professor in different universities such as De La Salle University, College of the Holy Spirit, Far Eastern University, San Beda College, and at Universidad de Manila as assistant professorial lecturer. He also worked at the Court of Appeals and the Philippine Senate, and has been an associate partner in different law offices.

At present, Judge Gito teaches Constitutional Law I and II, Constitutional Law Review, Labor Standards, Labor Relations and Labor Law Review at the PUP-College of Law.

DEPUTY OMBUDSMAN CYRIL RAMOS

Atty. Cyril E. Ramos, another faculty member of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-College of Law, was appointed as Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices (MOLEO) on May 6, 2014.

Deputy Ombudsman Ramos obtained his Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from the Philippine College of Commerce (now PUP). He finished his Bachelor of Laws at the Far Eastern University. He also earned units in Master in Business Administration at the University of the Philippines (UP).

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Ombudsman, Atty.Ramos worked in the Office of the Ombudsman from July 1988 to February 2007. He resigned from his post as Assistant Ombudsman for Finance and Administration.

From 1976 to 1987, he was appointed in various positions in the Civil Service Commission.

He teaches Obligation and Contracts, Special Contracts, Legal Forms, Legal Profession and Legal Research at the PUP College of Law. He is also a faculty member of the PUP College of Accountancy and Finance.
