The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) successfully conducted the first batch of the College Entrance Test (PUPCET) for the Academic Year 2026–027. A total of 20,840 students took the first batch of examinations.
Early December 2025, the University received over 100,000 applicants for PUP Sta. Mesa - Mabini campus alone. Across its 26 campuses and academic extension programs as well as its Open University System, close to 12,000 more applicants are expected to take the entrance tests.
PUP Sta. Mesa Campus typically accepts around 12,000 first year students each year out of the hundreds of thousands of applicants. Based on last year’s data, approximately 70.20% of examinees come from low-income households, emphasizing the university’s role in providing accessible, quality education to deserving students from diverse backgrounds.
The top 5 preferred programs among passers reflect strong demand and the institution’s reputation for excellence in licensure examinations:
The PUPCET 2026 results are expected to be released in June 2026.
