PUP alumna and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Athlete Ms. Denice Zamboanga brought pride and honor once again after winning the Hit List's 2020 Breakout Fighter of the Year.
Hit List's 2020 Breakout Fighter of the Year Award was presented by Muaythai Association of the Philippines (MAP) Secretary-General Pearl Managuelod.
According to the Tie Breaker Times panel of experts and sports journalists Mr. Santino Honasan, Mr. Ason Tulio and Mr. Robert Belen, Zamboanga’s performances and potential led her to be this year’s champion.
“Without question, Denice Zamboanga is the Breakout Fighter of the Year. Denise Zamboaga has massive, massive potential and has a very impressive feat,” said Honasan.
In addition, Tulio said that for Denice, “Sky is the limit. As far as performances, Denice Zamboanga hands down. Very impressive.”
Meanwhile, Belen praises Zamboanga’s past performances at a young age. “Actually despite her age ipinapakita na ni Denice na para na s’yang veteran lumaban,” he said.
Zamboanga has maintained an average grade of 2 or a grade rating ranging from 85% to 87%. Currently, Zamboanga has eight (8) wins with no loss in her professional career in MMA. She is now rank number 1 under the MMA Women’s Atomweight Division in One Championship, an MMA, Muay Thai, and Kickboxing promotion based in Singapore.
Zamboanga graduated in 2017 with a Diploma in Information and Communication Technology at the PUP Quezon City Branch.
