Sintang Paaralan celebrates another milestone of academic excellence as Mark Limuel Emelo Baez of PUP Maragondon Campus secured 7th place in the October 2026 Electronics Engineering Licensure Examination (EELE), earning an outstanding rating of 94.30%.
Baez's achievement reflects his dedication to academic excellence, perseverance, and commitment to continuous learning, bringing pride and honor to the University and the PUP Maragondon community.
Interestingly, pursuing Electronics Engineering was not initially part of Baez's career plan. He originally aspired to enter the medical field, particularly Medical Technology, but eventually explored Electronics Engineering after his former teachers recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue the discipline.
Although he initially faced challenges in Mathematics and Electronics, Baez remained determined to improve through independent study, advance reading, and consistent preparation. He also actively participated in academic competitions and student organizations, which helped strengthen his confidence, leadership, and communication skills.

His academic journey at PUP Maragondon Campus further shaped him into a well-rounded future professional. Through his involvement in the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Council of Student Chapters (IECEP-CSC), he gained valuable opportunities to develop his leadership skills, collaborate with fellow students, and share his knowledge as a coach.
More importantly, being an Iskolar ng Bayan instilled in him the values of perseverance, humility, empathy, and service. He recognized the significant contributions of his instructors, mentors, friends, and family, whose guidance and encouragement helped him throughout his academic journey.
Preparing for the licensure examination required discipline, resilience, and unwavering commitment. Baez shared that one of his greatest motivations was making his parents proud and giving back for their sacrifices. Their constant encouragement, particularly their reassuring words, "Kaya yan," inspired him to remain focused despite the demands of his review preparation.
Through prayer, hard work, and the support of his loved ones, he overcame the challenges of preparation and remained steadfast in pursuing his goal.
"I told myself that I had to do my best and make their sacrifices worth it. I also thought that passing the board examination would be my simple way of giving back to them for everything they had done for me," he shared.
As he celebrates this milestone, Baez encourages fellow PUPians and aspiring Electronics Engineers to believe in their capabilities and embrace opportunities for growth.
"Your circumstances and starting point do not determine how far you can go. You don't have to be the smartest person or have everything figured out from the beginning," he emphasized.
He further reminded aspiring professionals that success goes beyond titles, rankings, and recognition.
"It is also about the sacrifices you overcome, the people you bring with you, and the person you become along the way," Baez added.
Meanwhile, PUP Sta. Mesa Campus also earned recognition in the October 2026 Electronics Technician Licensure Examination (ETLE), securing 8th place with a 91.18% passing rate among institutions with 20 to 99 examinees and at least 90% passing percentage.
These achievements reinforce the University's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through accessible and relevant learning opportunities; SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by developing competent graduates prepared for professional careers; and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, by nurturing future professionals who can contribute to technological advancement and innovation.
