The College of Communication (COC), through the initiative of the Department of Communication Research (DCR), signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre for Neighbourhood Studies (CeNS) on October 26, 2021, via Zoom.
PUP Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning and Development Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, COC Dean Dr. Hemmady S. Mora, and DCR Chairperson Dr. Rudolf Anthony A. Lacerna represented the college in the said partnership while CeNS President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mario R. delos Reyes, CeNS Corporate Secretary Ms. Nancy R. Aguda and Chief Finance Officer Ms. Angelina D. Caluag represented the CeNS in the ceremonial signing.
In the signed MoU, COC and CeNS will collaborate through research and extension undertakings on the development of inclusive, resilient, and sustainable neighborhoods of healthy and learning people who have equitable access to quality basic services, adequate economic opportunities, appropriate infrastructure, and who nurture a balanced ecology, a sense of community, and partnerships for development through environmental planning and neighborhood science. They will also design projects to accelerate the development of capable professional environmental planners, neighborhood scientists, and communication and research practitioners through the conduct of training courses, policy and extension-oriented research, and other developmental programs. And lastly, COC and CeNS will work closely towards innovative approaches in environmental planning, neighborhood science, environmental/neighborhood policies, and communication science.
This ceremonial activity was also attended by the COC chairpersons, faculty members, students, and alumni.
