As a long-time partner of Parents Advocate for Visually Impaired Children (PAVIC), the College of Human Kinetics (CHK) continues to share their knowledge and experience with the people and community.
Under the supervision of Dean Assoc. Prof. Lualhati A. Dela Cruz, along with active and supportive CHK administrators, faculty members, and selected students, CHK completed its extension project titled “YOu Got whAt it takes to ZOOMba” - Phase 3 & 4, a Salin-Kaalaman Tungo sa Kaunlaran program held last September, via Zoom.
These projects are built on last year’s initiative to encourage and provide comprehensive and inclusive opportunities to all people, regardless of circumstance or physical condition.
The resource speakers were Ms. Jane Delfinado, a certified personal fitness trainer, group exercise instructor, movement pattern and rehab specialist, and Dr. Ferdie T. Lubis, a specialist in fitness and dance.
Ms. Delfinado actively shared doing this endeavor because Yogilates’ benefits the health of all individuals similar to medicine. She also mentioned the benefits of joint mobility or movement, as well as flexibility. Dr. Lubis, on the other hand, spoke about how to increase mental well-being through dancing and the basic components of a dance fitness routine.
They also emphasized the positive effects of having both in the daily lives of people of all ages. It is not only necessary to be able to execute the skill, but it is also necessary to enjoy doing the skills in Yogilates and Dance Fitness Workout with the family.
The last session served as the beneficiaries’ graduation day, following a performance to demonstrate what they learned from Yogilates and Dance Fitness Workout.
