On June 18, 2016, the College of Law, in a testimonial dinner, gave honor to the seventeen (17) new PUPian lawyers. They are the ones who successfully passed the 2015 bar examinations administered by the Supreme Court of the Philippines on November 8, 15, 22 and 29, 2015.
A thanksgiving mass was held before the testimonial dinner. It was officiated by Fr. Raymun J. Festin, SVD, PhD
During the dinner, Atty. Judy Lardizabal, president of the College of Law Faculty Association, presented the new lawyers, namely:
Judge Joselito Villarosa congratulated them for bringing another glory to the university. He also emphasized that students from the College of Law get quality education despite minimal tuition.
Certificates of Recognition were distributed to the new lawyers.
Passing of candles by the new lawyers to the 2016 bar candidates was then ensued. The passing of candles was initiated by Prosecutor Maria Gene Sarmiento.
Atty. Gemy Lito L. Festin, Dean of the College of Law, discussed the result of the 2015 bar examinations. He said that there is only a little difference between the scores of candidates to the 2015 bar examinations who did not make it and the passing rate. He also said they will pass the bar examinations if they will maintain their study habits and will strive harder. He also reminded the new lawyers to help those who will take the next bar examinations.
