PUP campus journalists stand out at 4th NCJC, University named overall first runner-up

Manila, Philippines (March 10, 2026) — The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) campus journalists once again honored the Sintang Paaralan for winning multiple championship titles and the Overall First Runner-up award for Best Performing School in the 4th National Campus Journalism Convention (NCJC). The three-day convention gathered 396 delegates from 60 schools nationwide at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel in Manila from March 6 to 8, 2026.

The delegation was led by four PUPians who finished as champions in their respective events: Sean Adrielle R. Montebon for Sports News Writing (English), Shane Elijah Q. Dinglasan for Editorial Writing (English), Dionel B. Esteban for Editorial Writing (Filipino), and Josiah Edmund Delima for Photojournalism.

Mentored and guided by their dedicated faculty coaches, Prestoline S. Suyat (Editorial, News Writing and Sports Writing—English and Filipino) and Christopher G. Andres (Photojournalism), the student journalists demonstrated not only their technical skills in campus journalism, but also their responsibility to critical, compassionate storytelling that reflects the core values of the university. Their achievement stands as a shared victory for the PUP community, affirming that the Sintang Paaralan continues to be a home to young storytellers who use their voice to serve the people.
