PUP Senior High School and the Kaohsiung Municipal Fu-Cheng Senior High School-Taiwan bagged the Gold Prize award in the recently held virtual Asian Student Exchange Program (ASEP) 2022 on December 27-28, 2022.
The team of PUP-SHS was represented by Gianna Abian, Prince Joey Araño, and Wanda Annieshka Basarte, of ABM and STEM strand, under the guidance of Prof. Melanie Jimenez, faculty from the College of Education.
ASEP is an annual cooperation of schools from Asian and New Southbound countries for both teachers and students to have an opportunity to enhance their international cultural knowledge and learn to respect foreign cultures.
The collaborative activity is part of the agreement between PUP, through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), the Office of International Affairs (OIA), and KMFSHS in the spirit of educational cooperation and making a significant contribution to people’s international and intercultural education.
Organized by the Education Bureau, Kaohsiung City Government, and Chung-Shan Industrial and Commercial High School, the theme for ASEP 2022 focused on the Balance and Conflict between Economic Development and Environmental Sustainability.
PUP-SHS and KMFSHS elaborated and presented their ideas on the said theme focusing on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Sustainable consumption and production patterns and SDG 14: Life below water.
ASEP 2021 was joined by students from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
