Foreign Ambassadors and Int'l Relations Experts discuss PH Foreign Policy

Foreign Ambassadors from Mexico, Japan and Russia together with International Relations Experts gathered for the National Research Forum 2017 held on May 10 to 12, 2017 at the Bulwagang Bonifacio, Ninoy Aquino Library Learning and Resources Center, Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Sta. Mesa Campus.

Foreign Ambassadors and Int'l Relations Experts discuss PH Foreign PolicyWith the theme “Philippine Foreign Policy Under the Duterte Administration: Prospects and Challenges,” the event featured the lectures of Embassy of Mexico Ambassador Julio Camarena Villaseñor, Embassy of Japan Deputy Chief of Mission Minister Atsushi Ueno, and Kaisa Para sa Kaunlaran Inc. Founding President Ms. Teresita Ang See from China on the present status of relationship of the Philippines to their respective countries.

Aside from these, the forum also discussed the various issues and challenges experienced during the current government’s Foreign policies in connection with politics and economy.

Also present in the event were the Executive Director of the Institute for Political and Electoral Reform Prof. Ramon Casiple; University of the Philippines School of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Clarita R. Carlos; Ibon Foundation Executive Director Mr. Jose Enrique Africa; University of the Philippines – Diliman Asian Center representative Dr. Aileen San Pablo-Baviera; De La Salle University International Studies Prof. Dr. Renato C. De Castro; PUP Master in Public Administration Chairperson Prof. Antonius C. Umali; PUP Department of History Faculty members Prof.  Paulo Benedicto C. Villar and Prof. Christian Paul G. Ramos; PUP College of Political Science and Public Administration Instructor Ms. Patricia Camille Villa (PUP); and CNN Philippines Journalist Ms. Joanna Marie “Pinky” Webb.

This lecture was spearheaded by the PUP Department of History in cooperation with the Center for Peace and Poverty Alleviation Studies, Center for Human Rights and Gender Studies, and Center for Public Administration and Governance Studies.
