The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) celebrated the 9th Senior High School (SHS) graduation ceremony on May 22, 2026, at the Bulwagang Balagtas.
Senior High School Assistant Principal Assoc. Prof. Christian H. Villegas proudly presented the 106 graduates—twenty-four (24) from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) strand and eighty-two (82) from the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) strand.
The graduation rites marked a successful conclusion to the academic year 2026 with their holistic year-end preparations including participation on leadership training and recollection, strengthening both academic skills and personal values.
With 83% of the graduates continuing their college in the university, it highlights the students' trust in the institution's programs, the university continues its quality education for its students, allowing the graduates to easily pursue chosen careers while staying grounded in the familiar culture at PUP.
Celebrating Academic Excellence
On May 20, 2026, Senior High School and Laboratory High School departments came together to celebrate the academic milestones and exemplary performance of their respective student bodies. The Recognition Rites was celebrated at the PUP Gymnasium to recognize academic excellence and leadership capabilities.
The Laboratory High School showcases its outstanding academic performance, with numerous students from the batch receiving honors for their consistent hard work and excellence throughout the school year. In Senior High School, from the overall 106 graduates, a total of 79 students graduated with academic distinction. Including 18 honor students from Grade 12 ABM, 28 from STEM Section 1, and 33 from STEM Section 2, showing the academic success of the batch.
Our Progress, Our Achievement
PUP SHS Assoc. Prof. Christian H. Villegas congratulated Batch 2026, encouraging everyone with his message, “Progress is an achievement.” emphasizing the importance of growth and hard work on the academic journey as senior high school students. He also inspires the graduates that success is not just a matter of achievements but also of values, such as being Maka-tao and Maka-Diyos. He hopes that the graduates will continue their journey carrying the excellence and values instilled in them by senior high school. As 83% of the batch prepares to enter college at PUP, the community sends them off not just as academic achievers, but as principled leaders of tomorrow.
