With more than 400 attendees from different colleges, branches and satellite campuses of the University, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, Planning, and Development – Research Management Office organized a 4-day webinar series on research citation on March 29 – 31 and April 1, 2022, via Zoom platform.
Dubbed as Project ReCITE - Research Citations through Institutional Trainings and Engagements, the activity aims to capacitate faculty members on how to write research papers for high-impact journals and on how to boost their research citations.
Now on its 2nd year of implementation, Project ReCITE 2022 covered topics on the importance of high-impact journals on citation and citation indicators, as well as the role of citation as an indicator of research quality.
To have a specialized discussion based on different fields of discipline, seven (7) highly cited researchers in the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand were invited as resource speakers. They are Asst. Prof. Mark B. Ulla of Walailak University Thailand for Education; Dr. Jake M. Laguador of Bicol State College of Applied Sciences and Technology for Business and Finance; Dr. Genaro V. Japos of International Association of Multidisciplinary Research for Humanities, Languages, and Communication; Dr. Syed Farid Alatas of the National University of Singapore for Social Sciences; Dr. Michael Angelo B. Promentilla of the De La Salle University for Engineering, Architecture, Design, and the Built Environment; Acad. Dr. Arvin C. Diesmos of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity for Science, Mathematics, and Statistics; and Dr. Joel P. Ilao of the De La Salle University for Computer Science, Information Systems, and Technology.
