To enhance gender inclusivity in selected higher education institutions (HEIs) across the Philippines, the Research Institute for Human and Social Development - Center for Social Inclusivity Studies (RIHSD-CSIS) has launched an internally funded research project titled “Gender Mainstreaming in Higher Education.” This project aims to survey and evaluate the gender mainstreaming efforts of selected HEI’s through qualitative interviews.
On April 24, 2025, the Center for Social Inclusivity Studies (CSIS) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the independent academic organization ‘Women Doing Philosophy’ (WDP). WDP, dedicated to creating supportive spaces for Filipina philosophers, has formally joined forces with CSIS to advance this impactful research.
Representing WDP were Dr. Jean Emily P. Tan of Ateneo de Manila University and Gladys B. Esteve of Ateneo de Naga University. Attending for the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) were RIHSD Director Dr. Melcah P. Monsura, CSIS Chief Asst. Prof. Chloe D. Nicole Piamonte, and researchers Jeniel P. Dasig and Ron Justin P. Mangondato from the College of Arts and Letters (CAL).
This collaboration highlights the shared commitment to enhancing inclusivity in academics. By combining resources, WDP and RIHSD-CSIS aim to significantly improve gender inclusivity in higher education for a more equitable future.
