Over seven thousand PUPians participated in the National Service Training Program (NSTP) student orientation spearheaded by the PUP National Service Training Program (PUP-NSTP) and PUP-Sandiwa via Youtube live on October 17, 2021.
The orientation commenced with messages from the PUP President Dr. Manuel Muhi and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Dr. Zenaida Sarmiento.
NSTP officials, faculty members, and SANDIWA officers were introduced through audio-visual presentations. The previous success of the NSTP such as webinars, training, initiatives, and relief operations were also presented to the participants.
In the mid-part of the event, the outstanding instructors in CWTS for the academic year 2020-2021 were also acknowledged. Among them were Ms. Rosemarie R. Bernardino and Mr. Joey T. Danting for the first semester, and Ms. Maria Leonila C. Amata, Ms. Rosemarie R. Bernardino, Mr. Joey T. Danting, Ms. Ma. Corazon S. Domingo, Ms. Ruffa Mae V. Panal, Ms. Jean Myreen N. Rivera, and Mr. Richard L. Sana for the second semester. PUP Sandiwa pioneer officers were also recognized in the said orientation.
Questions from the freshmen regarding NSTP and its components were entertained and answered by the NSTP Director Rovelina B. Jacolbia, CWTS Chief Joey T. Danting, and NSTP Administrative Staff Instr. Aljon G. Pada and Cadet Major Breenz R. Juanillo 2CL.
The orientation was concluded by Dr. Rovelina B. Jacolbia through closing remarks where she extended her gratitude to everyone behind the success of this event.
This NSTP Student Orientation was the first activity of the collaborative efforts of PUP NSTP officials and PUP Sandiwa officers. The Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) will have a separate orientation to address the students’ concerns regarding this component.
