Providers Medical Center ophthalmologist and alumna Dr. Marie Fe “Faye” Salvador-Navarrete has donated a smart lectern device to the Sintang Paaralan to facilitate efficient information dissemination and public use.
During the ceremonial signing of the Deed of Donation held at Alumni Relations and Career Development Office Conference Room (ARCDO) on September 18, Salvador-Navarrete donated the device—a digital podium that integrates a built-in computer, touch-screen monitor, microphone system, and adjustable-height motorized stand into a single unit. It will be used for streamlined presentations during University-related events, such as academic, professional, and institutional activities.
A 1996 BS Economic graduate in 1996, she stated it is her honor to give back to the University that helped “shape her values, her professional journey, and inspired her commitment to contributing to the community.”
“May this smart lectern serve as a valuable resource for learning, innovation, leadership development, and meaningful engagement among students,” she said.
She added that this ceremony serves as a testament to the enduring partnership of PUP and its alumni, expressing hope that this donation will enable a more robust learning environment for generations of Iskolar ng Bayan to come.
“Let us continue investing in education for a brighter and prosperous country.”
ARCDO Director Engr. Florinda H. Oquindo noted that every time alumni gives back to their alma mater, it is “one of the most beautiful expressions of gratitude” and a form of continued service “through meaningful contributions, partnerships, mentorship, and service.”
“Every time this lectern is used, it will remind us of an alumna who chose to give back,” she said. “It will remind our students and our community that wherever our graduates may go and whatever success they achieve, there is always an opportunity to return and help build a better PUP for the next generation.”
University President Dr. Manuel Muhi noted that this event is a manifestation of the alumni to commit to giving back to help the PUP Community, remarking that the drive to “serve the people ay hindi talaga nawawala.” (Serving the people really never fades).
Also present on that day to receive the donation were Vice President for Student Affairs and Services (VPSAS) Prof. Tomas O. Testor, Alumni Relations Services Chief, Dr. Emy Abayan-Perez, and members of ARCDO.
The donated smart lectern reflects a shared commitment to streamlining and digitizing both public and academic services for the entire PUP community. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, highlighting the Sintang Paaralan’s continued collaborations with its alumni.
