The Polytechnic University of the Philippines, in collaboration with the Manila Youth Development and Welfare Bureau (MYDWB) and MONkeys Forward - USA, conducted the 3rd International Youth Webinar on August 12, 2021.
The event is in line with the MYDWB's annual celebration of International Youth Month every August, and MONkeys Forward's mission to encourage Filipinos to grow their mindset, create the right environment, and embrace hard work.
With the title, “Healthy Yarn?: Innovative Health and Wellness Business for the Youth,” the event aims to promote the importance of health and wellness in our society, provide a comprehensive understanding of the operations of some health and wellness-related businesses, encourage our youth to explore entrepreneurship, and train and develop our youth by showing them how to manage a health and wellness-related business.
Among the speakers in the event were: Sam Angelito Barozzo, a graduation specialist from CSU Fullerton who discussed Communication Skills for Career Success; Jose Villablanca, the founder of Hoslistic Fitness PH with the topic Physical Health - Wellness Service Industry; John Patrick Maliwan, the owner of Zac and Zion Honey Bee Farm who discussed Motivational Talk - Manufacturing Business; Earl Clyde Pia, a Health Products Distributor of USANA Health and Science Intl., for the topic True Health and Wealth - Merchandising Business; and Prof. Pete Avila, a special lecturer at the College of Business Administration with his topic Business Opportunities in Alternative Healing Modalities.
Among the attendees in the webinars were HR students, College of Business Administration (CBA) faculty members, CBA Remote Education Stipend Amidst Pandemic (RESAP) beneficiaries and their parents, affiliates from the Junior People Management Association of the Philippines – National (JPMAP-National), local and international participants, members of the Manila Youth Council, and collaborators from the MONkeys Forward and the MYDWB.
The virtual event was made possible by the CBA Faculty and the Human Resource Students Society. It was spearheaded by its project leaders Dr. Roy Angelo Pobre and HRSS President Ms. Keith Colleen Tumaque; guided by the CBA Associate Dean, HRM Department Chairperson, and HRSS Adviser, Dr. Cindy Soliman; with the provision of MYDWB Youth Officer III, Mr. Avelino Rivera, Founder of MONkeys Forward, USA, Engr. Divine Mon-Valle, and CBA Dean, Dr. Guillermo Bungato Jr.
