In celebration of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ 120th founding anniversary, alumni from BSCOE Batch 2004 and Cicerone Travel & Events Management contributed generously to enhance the campus facilities. An 85-inch TV set, donated by BSCOE Batch 2004, and a 65-inch TV set from Cicerone Travel & Events Management were unveiled in a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on October 28.
These installations aim to create a Career Infoboard on the second floor of the South Wing of PUP’s main building, offering students easy access to career-related information and inspiring content. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by representatives from both donor groups. BSCOE Batch 2004 was represented by Engr. Gabby Balajadia, while Cherilyn Pilos represented Cicerone Travel & Events Management.
PUP President Manuel M. Muhi expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous donations and the active support from PUP alumni. “We’re hopeful that many more will step forward to contribute in honor of our 120th founding anniversary. Our thanks are unending; maraming salamat po sa inyo. We look forward to seeing more alumni engaging in similar initiatives,” he said.
Emma Morao, another representative of BSCOE Batch 2004, shared her excitement about returning to her alma mater two decades later. She emphasized the importance of technology in today’s world and the need to provide students with enhanced digital resources.
“Today’s world is so connected through technology and media, and our students deserve to experience it firsthand. This Career Infoboard is more than just a screen; it opens up new perspectives.”
Morao expressed her hopes for the infoboard to become a source of inspiration and collaboration, enhancing the educational experience for PUP students. “We hope that this wall will motivate students, and as a hiring manager myself, I hope it continues to position PUPians as top choices for employers.”
In coordination with Alumni Relations and Career Development Office headed by Director Flor Oquindo, the new Career Infoboard represents a step forward in PUP’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality education while equipping students with the resources they need to succeed.
With this recent donation, PUP continues to strengthen its ties with alumni and industry partners, paving the way for future collaboration and support.
