CAF Student Council conducts finals review series

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Accountancy and Finance Student Council (PUP CAF-SC) and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) Manila conducted a "CAF REVIEW: FINALS" an Online-Class Type Webinar Series to review students before their upcoming final examinations.

CAF students were able to invite Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Reviewers and Professors for further review and clarification of different topics through a webinar.

The first session was launched on Sunday, June 27, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and was led by CPA Reviewer Professor Brian Christian S. Villaluz, whose topic focused on Accounting for Special Transactions.

The second session was held on June 30, which was led by Dr. Cedric Val R. Naranjo, the Chairman of the Accountancy and Finance Department at the University of San Juan Recoletos (USJR). Dr. Naranjo discussed Income Taxation in a three-hour lecture, from 3:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m.

On July 2, two sessions were held which focused on Intermediate Accounting 2 and Auditing and Assurance: Concepts and Applications 2  which were discussed by Professor Rainiel C. Soriano and CPA Reviewer Mr. Jomari Jess S. Abellar respectively. 

On July 4, a former reviewer Professor John Bo S. Cayetano tackled Intermediate Accounting 3. 

The webinar series is still ongoing with three more sessions scheduled: Professor Floyd C. Paguio, Chairman/CEO of Paguio, Dumayas, & Associates (PDAC), CPAS, will lecture on Updates in Financial Reporting Standards on July 8 (Thursday) from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Mr. John Ulysses D. Villena will tackle Financial Accounting and Reporting on July 10 (Saturday) from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and the final coaching on July 11, 2021 (Sunday), from 6:00 p.m to 9:00 p.m, on Strategic Cost Management with alumna and faculty of CAF Professor Kevin Troy M. Chua.
