The Polytechnic University of the Philippines student-contestants from the College of Education (CoEd) won in the recently concluded inter-school education competition organized by the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators- National Capital Region (PAFTE-NCR). CoEd won in two important competitions during the 2nd PAFTE-NCR Student Teachers’ Summit held on February 13, 2016 at the Social Hall of National Teachers College in Quiapo, Manila.
Educwizard champions with Prof. Emir B. Velasquez
CoEd was declared champion in the Interschool Educwizard 2016. The team was composed of Sheena C. Doria, BEED 4-1D;Jean Zandrea Sayno, BEED 4-1N; Darlene Ocampo, BEED 4-1D; Ma. Carmela G. Asebias, BEED 3-1D; Patricia Jeanne S. Mendoza, BSED EN 3-1D. The students were coached and trained by Prof. Emir B. Velasquez.
Creative Output winners
In another team event, third year students from the Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English won second place in the Creative Output Contest. The team was composed of: Krizzia Anne Garcia, Judith Lora Pearl Relos and Russel Estacion. Contestants in this event were guided by their coach Mrs. Merriam S. Silin.
Also, seven researches from different Teacher Education Institutions (TEI) were chosen by PAFTE-NCR for oral presentation. The research titled “Pagtataya sa Isina-Filipinong Modyul sa Horticulture ng TESDA sa Jones Rural School, Isabela” from a group of BSED students majoring in Filipino of CoEd was chosen. It was presented by Edeza Sinaon, BSED-FL 4-1N.
Meanwhile, faculty members from the college of education also attended the PAFTE-NCR Educators’ Summit held at the same venue.
