This will also be the first state-sponsored University in Rainbow Village Deparo which aims to address the absence of state-run tertiary education institutions in Metro Manila North or Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela (CAMANAVA) area to allow the learners to attend university and complete their education.
The ceremony was led by Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan, First District Representative Oscar Malapitan, PUP President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, Vice President for Branches and Satellite Campuses Prof. Pascualito B. Gatan, Vice President for Research, Extension and Development Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin, and Vice President for Administration Prof. Adam V. Ramilo. Also present at the event were officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led by Project Head Engr. Michael-Angelo Atanis.
In his Facebook post, Caloocan City Mayor Malapitan expressed his gratitude to PUP and highlighted the importance of the construction of the new campus in the City.
“Alam po natin na ang pagkakaroon ng campus ng isa sa mga pinakamahuhusay na unibersidad sa buong bansa ay tiyak na makatutulong sa ating mga inisyatibang paunlarin ang kalidad ng edukasyon dito sa ating lungsod,” said Malapitan.
The soon-to-rise PUP Caloocan North Campus will have six (6) floors with 1,500 sqm per floor area. The campus will have its laboratories, library, study areas, multipurpose halls, and offices to ensure a conducive learning environment for every student.
