A total of 22 families received cash and in-kind donations in the PUP - National Service Training Program Office gift-giving drive held on December 14, 2020 with the theme “DIWA NG PASKO: a gift-giving drive for the janitors of PUP.” The gift-giving drive was conducted by the PUP NSTP, in collaboration with PUP- SANDIWA (Samahang Nagtataguyod ng Iisang Diwa’t Adhika), subsequent program of KAPIT-DIWA: a donation drive for the fire victims in Anonas, Sta. Mesa, Manila. Among the beneficiaries of the event were the families of PUP janitors and janitresses which happened to be victims of Anonas Fire Incident in November 2020.
“Maraming salamat po, malaking tulong na po ito sa amin. Napakaagang pamaskong handog po nito para sa amin! (Thank you very much. These [relief goods] would really help us. This is an early Christmas gift for us!),” said one of the recipients. The event was also made possible with the help and generosity of PUP faculty members, students, and alumni.
Last year, the same office initiated a 5-month long donation drive and relief distribution operations for more than 200 stranded students of PUP due to stricter community quarantine from March to July.
