Banking and Finance Students bagged the Grand Prize in the recently concluded Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) 2015 Video Contest with the theme: “ U Can Make a Difference”.
In line with the thrust of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to foster a financially empowered citizenry, the Financial Consumer Protection Department (FCPD) conducted the 2015 Financial Education Congress for the Youth (FECY) on 07 December 2015 at the BSP Assembly Hall, BSP Complex, Malate, Manila.
The FECY was a one-day event that featured lecture sessions and exhibitions. The lecture sessions cover topics on Understanding the Value of Money, Financial Planning and Financial Products for the Youth, and Innovative Products and Use of Technology. The exhibits, on the other hand comprised various financial literacy initiatives of partner institutions that complemented the lessons learned from the lecture sessions.
In addition to these, FECY highlighted the event through a Video Contest that encouraged the students in the creation of financial education video with a P 75,000.00 cash prize. The project aims to provide a sneak peek on the importance of being financially literate. The criteria for judging: Relevance to the Topic (20%), Technique (20%), Creativity (20%), Over-all Execution (20%), Number of Views and Likes on BSP Facebook (10%) and Number of Votes during the 2015 Finance Education Congress for the Youth (FECY) on 7 December 2015 (10%).
Ms. Daryll Hanna F. Serrano, Ms. Jolina M. Lompot, Ms. Joanne M. Perez and Ms. Kristelle Faith M. Hael (Third Year Banking and Finance Students Section 2) won the Video Contest with the title: The Power of Compounding Interest.
