Martin Russel Encisa and Mary Diane Murillo, graduates from Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BS Arch) from PUP - Sta. Mesa brought great news when they were named as one of the topnotchers, while the College of Architecture, Design, and Built Environment (CADBE) was declared the top performing school in the June 2024 Licensure Examination for Architects (LEA).
In the results posted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on June 19, Encisa ranked fifth (5th) in the rankings with an 82.20% rating while Murillo placed seventh (7th) with an 82% score. Meanwhile, 56 out 60 PUPian exam takers have passed the said licensure exam, garnering a 93.33% passing rate, a testament to the University’s excellence in licensure examinations.
PUP President Manuel Muhi, during the July 2024 Flag Raising Ceremony, praised the achievers for their outstanding accomplishment.
Muhi said.
(Your achievements are proof of the progress of the Sintang Paaralam. This is what we are proud of. This is part of our culture of excellence that gives us many accolades and inspiration to further improve our service to our Sintang Paaralan.)
A welcome surprise Both Encisa and Murillo revealed their surprise and relief for the unexpected attainment as their wish is to only pass the LEA but were grateful and blessed as it served as vindication for their sacrifices, saying that all their hard work and preparations were worth it.
Encisa credited the University for preparing them for their future, stating that their Free Online Review Sessions helped a lot.
([The University] laid the foundation of knowledge for us alumni. While we were still in school, we were exposed to the fundamentals of architecture, which is very important because it made it easier for us to understand and absorb what we encountered through the diversified experience and what are being tackled by review centers.)
Murillo then credited the Architecture Qualifying Exams that she took during her 3rd Year as her “warm up” to the LEA as it allowed her to see the subjects and topics that she needs to work on and improve.
(That is the place where you’ll figure out what are the effective study habits, where you’re weak, where you’re good. We’ll know where to focus.)
Encisa expressed his gratitude to PUP for gearing them towards success and for fostering a supportive atmosphere that remains strong even after they left the institution.
(I am most thankful for the quality of the foundation of knowledge that our University has instilled in us during our academic years. Aside from the knowledge, the school also planted in us the morals to be diligent and competitive inside and outside the school.)
Murillo commended PUP’s commitment to a firm and practical approach in educating students which she believes allows for an easier adaptation to the challenges of the industry.
(The learning they will provide is not spoon-feeding where the lessons will be given to you. They will let you experience how to be resilient and how to also adapt to the different challenges that we will apply in the future.)
