Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) was ranked as the 20th best university in the country, beating out many prestigious institutions, in the recently released EduRank Top 100 Universities list. This recognition is a testament to the university’s commitment to excellence and innovation in higher education.
The list was based on research outputs, non-academic prominence, and alumni influence. The rankings are determined by analyzing 373,000 citations received by 30,400 academic publications made by 229 universities from the Philippines, the popularity of 889 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available.
“This ranking serves as a source of pride for PUP and its community, as it shows that the university’s hard work and dedication to academic excellence is being recognized on a national level.” Pres. Manuel Muhi said in a statement.
“As PUP continues to grow and evolve, the university remains committed to its mission of providing quality education and producing graduates who are prepared to excel in their chosen fields. This recognition by EduRank is a testament to PUP’s success in achieving this mission, and the university looks forward to continuing to serve its students and community in the years to come” he added.
According to EduRank, the ranking is intended to assist students in selecting a university that will provide them with a well-rounded education and a solid foundation for future success. It is hoped that this ranking will encourage universities to focus on research and development, as well as the cultivation of alumni networks and non-academic prominence.
