The following are the component centers of the Office for Teaching and Learning Development (OTLD) which assists the Academic Affairs in fulfilling its mandate among its stakeholders:
The Center for Professional Development, formerly the Center for Professional Training, is the center of OTLD which is in-charge of upskilling or training the faculty members of the University in terms of the new trends in teaching and learning, especially in the use of technology-aided modalities and in developing various types of instructional materials for better learning.
Serving as the extremities of OTLD, the following shall serve as the specific services of the Center.
The Center for Instructional Materials Development and Assessment serves as the legwork of OTLD in crafting instructional materials for the benefit of the students of the whole university. It also serves as the Center through which guidelines and assessment tools are crafted.
The following shall serve as the specific services to be provided by CIMDA.
The Center for Education Technology or CEdTech is the third center under the OTLD. It is established to study and promote trends and innovations in the academic community which can be beneficial to PUP. Thus, the Center shall update the university on the use of tools and advance technologies relative to teaching and learning and shall provide support to OTLD pertinent to the latter’s ICT needs like the maintenance of the OTLD website for effective dissemination of its services to the community.
The following shall serve as the specific services to be provided by CEdTech.
The Center for Learning Development or CLD is the last center under the OTLD. It is established to organize meetings and consultations from novice to expert teachers for the purpose of supporting the students in operationalizing information learned in the classroom. It also designs pocket seminars and courses to help students become independent and self-directed.
