2019, March 29 - Formerly part of the Center for Human Rights and Gender Studies under the Institute for Human and Social Development, a separate Institute for Gender and Development (IGAD) was established and approved by the Board in its meeting. The IGAD initially had two centers: the Center for Gender Studies, and the Center for Gender Training and Advocacy.
2020 - IGAD was renamed into the Research Institute for Gender and Development (RIGAD) in response to the challenges of research in the university.
2021, June 25 - Upon the approval of the 173rd Regular BOR meeting, RIGAD was renamed Gender and Development Office (GADO). The Center for GAD Focal Point System was also added to the organizational structure of the Office this year.
2022 - After thorough planning and realigning of goals, the Center for Inclusivity and Diversity was added as one of the centers of the GADO in 2022 to solidify the advocacy aspect of the office.
