The Polytechnic University of the Philippines Bansud Campus came into existence through a Memorandum of Agreement between the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and the Municipality of Bansud in October, 2008.
It initially offered PUP Open University Programs, Master in Education Management and Master in Public Administration, during the second semester of the SY 2008-2009. Undergraduate program offerings followed in the SY 2009-2010. Bachelor in Secondary Education, major in Mathematics and major in English, and Bachelor in Office Administration were the programs offered. Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Diploma in Office Management Technology were included in the program offerings at the start of the SY 2010-2011.
The campus had its first set of graduates in 2011. Master in Education Management and Master in Public Administration students participated in the year-end graduation of the PUP Open University held at the PUP Main Campus.
In 2013, PUP Bansud Campus had its First Commencement Exercises for undergraduate programs. It also had its second set of Master in Education Management graduates on the same year.
Also in 2013, an agreement between the Department of Health, the Municipality of Bansud LGU and PUP paved the way to the establishment of a community radio station at the University campus. It is the first of its kind in Oriental Mindoro and one of the 25 community radio station in the Philippines.
From 2015 up to present, our campus has sufficient subject specialists teaching under the Graduate programs of the Open University, 19 faculty members teaching in the undergraduate programs, one computer laboratory, a faculty room, a newly built library, a radio station, eight classrooms and on-going three-storey administrative building.
