Technological changes in modern economies are tremendously affecting individuals, firms, government and international institutions. Competitiveness and connectivity in the global economy can only be attained by students and professionals through a joint effort by stakeholders especially the academe and the industry. Moreover, pursuant to the international standards of higher education qualification adopted in the Bologna Accord, there is a need to increase the content of the existing curriculum from the current 150 credits to the minimum of 180 credits for the Bachelor’s degree. This new curriculum is considered to produce a new breed of professionals who are knowledge-equipped and skills-enhanced.
The Bachelor of Science in Economics is an undergraduate program offered to students who are cognizant of the importance and significance of theories and empirics of the decision-making process of economic agents such as firms, individuals, government and non-governmental organizations in relation to efficient utilization of scarce resources.
