Young adults and religion in a global perspective: A cross-cultural, comparative and mixed-method study of religious subjectivities and values in their context
The project aims to meet the need for methodological development in order to maintain and advance the relevance of the Study of Religions as a discipline in a cross-cultural and global perspective. As such, a global and systematic mixed-method study on religious subjectivities was conducted wherein the researchers employed the development and implementation of a new approach, the Faith Q-sort based on Q-methodology, is combined with Schwartz’ value survey. The Åbo Akademi University (ÅAU) established a highly relevant international network. and built on close cooperation with a global network of partners from China, India, Israel, Ghana, Peru, Poland, Russia, Scandinavia (Finland and Sweden), the USA, and the Philippines. For the Philippine leg, a team of faculty members from the College of Social Sciences and Development (CSSD) with relevant expertise in the field has agreed to support the scientific development and take part in the research.
Internally-funded Extension Program with ICAN Foundation
The CSSD HAGKANLUNGAN extension program supports the SALIN-KAALAMAN, TUNGO SA KAUNLARAN (SKTK) flagship extension program of the university by continuously promotes the transfer of knowledge and expertise of the members of the academic and administrative personnel to its target beneficiaries. As such, the extension program focuses on the implementation of the training programs needed by the house parents and administrative staff of the ICAN Foundation as identified in the conducted community needs assessment.
Externally-funded Extension Program with Brent group of Companies
The College of Social Sciences and Development, through the PUP Department of Psychology has their ongoing extension project for the Brent Group of Companies which aims to conduct the following: (a) meeting with the HR department of Brent Group of Companies to finalize the results of the Needs Analysis; (b) Finalize resource persons from the Department of Psychology Pool of Experts; (c) finalize dates of implementation of the trainings and seminars with the partner beneficiary.
