The College of Tourism Hospitality and Transportation Management officials and faculty from other units of the university visited two important institutions in Incheon, South Korea—the Korea Cultural Exchange Agency (KCEA) and Kyung-in Women’s University for mutually beneficial partnerships in the future, last November 28, 2022.
Assoc. Professor Yolanda Montances, chairperson of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, represented and led the delegation from PUP in a ceremonial MOU signing held separately. The first was held in KCEA with the chairman of the agency Kim Yeonhee. The activity “Philippines-Korea Meeting of Minds” hopes to open opportunities for CTHTM especially its students in an international exchange to meet people from different cultures.
Second MOU signing ceremony was held in Kyung-in Women’s University. The university president, Dr. Myong Soon Park, led the signing ceremony and was assisted by International Affairs director Dr. Kyungok Park. Afterwards, a brief meeting was held to identify possible collaborations in faculty research, student exchange, and international cooperation activities.
Sintang Paaralan is keen to further expand its international reach for the broader benefit of its whole community. These new partnerships emphasize the University’s commitment to becoming the National Polytechnic University, through increased exposure in global education.
Also present during the signing are PUP faculty members, namely: Assoc. Prof. Regina Zuniga, Assoc. Prof. Maria Gay Teopengco, Instr. Bryan Joseph Oriondo, and Instr. Ezekiel Janssen Pernia from CTHTM; Hilda Raysag Labignette, Cherry Pillos, and Jojo Villamin—course specialists from Open University System; and Prof. Ma. Junithesmer D. Rosales from the Office for Teaching and Learning Development.
