The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Graduate School (GS), alongside the Quality Assurance Center (QAC), has achieved 100% compliance with the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) requirements.
Following comprehensive reviews to ensure alignment with CHED Policies, Standards, and Guidelines (PSGs), outcomes-based education (OBE) principles, faculty qualifications, research standards, and institutional support systems, all GS programs have received full approval from CHED, namely in areas such as humanities, social sciences, psychology, sciences, engineering, and applied fields.
This marks a turnaround from 2019, when only two GS programs held valid Certificates of Program Compliance: the Master in Communication and the Master of Arts in Psychology.
Now, as of the Academic Year 2024-2025, the GS’s COPC-compliant programs include:
Doctoral Programs
Master’s Programs (Arts, Science, and Professional Tracks)
According to GS, achieving a perfect COPC compliance strengthens stakeholder confidence, enhances accreditation and internationalization initiatives, and ensures that the academic rights of the Iskolar ng Bayan are upheld since all graduate programs are now CHED-recognized and quality-assured.
This significant milestone highlights PUP’s sustained commitment to academic excellence in higher education, strong academic culture and leadership, regular CHED compliance, and robust quality assurance practices. In addition, this effort also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), specifically No. 4 in Quality Education, No. 9 in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, No. 16 in Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and No. 17 in Partnerships for the Goals.
