The Sintang Paaralan marked a significant milestone on March 19, 2026, with the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new College of Communication (COC) Building held at the PUP College of Communication-NDC Campus.
The event was attended by key university officials led by PUP President Manuel Muhi, alongside the Department of Public Works and Highways - National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) headed by Engr. Joel Limpengco, DPWH-NCR Regional Director.
The DPWH reaffirmed its support for the project, signifying its role in strengthening public infrastructure that supports higher education and long-term academic development.
Also present was Dr. Jose Reuben Alagaran II, Dean of the College of Communication, who expressed optimism about the new building. Further, this additional facility will help accommodate the growing number of students and improve the college’s capacity to deliver quality instruction and hands-on training.
The construction of the new COC Building is aligned with the UN SDGs, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by enhancing access to improved learning spaces; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, through the development of resilient and inclusive educational facilities; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, reflected in the collaboration between PUP and government agencies such as the DPWH.
University officials and stakeholders expressed hope that the project will not only address current spatial and academic needs but also contribute to the long-term development of future communication professionals in the country.
The ceremony concluded with messages of unity and commitment, marking the beginning of a new phase of infrastructure development for PUP College of Communication.
