The Polytechnic University of the Philippines ranked third among the top performing schools with 50 or more examinees and with at least 80 percent passing rate in the recently held Nutritionist-Dietitian Licensure Examination.
PUP retained its title as the country’s third top nutrition-dietetics school after 93 of the 105 examinees from the PUP College of Science passed the licensure examination conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission last July 2014.
The University obtained a passing rate of 88.57 percent in the exam, a figure relatively higher than this year’s national passing average of 63.59 percent. The University of the Philippines in Los Baños dominated the recent board exam by posting a 100 percent (72 out of 72) passing rate while the University of Santo Tomas in Manila came in second with its 90.53 percent (86 out of 95) passing rate.
The country’s first polytechnic and largest university had 58 (83 percent) successful examinees in 2010; 61 (84.72 percent) in 2011; 70 (85.37 percent) in 2012; and 58 (77.33 percent) in 2013.
