The College of Social Sciences and Development Research Program is focused on advancing knowledge in the social sciences through effective and meaningful research. We aim to address major societal issues and find solutions for complex social problems. Our goal is to foster a research environment that emphasizes collaboration and academic excellence.
We prioritize research that is both theoretically strong and practically useful. By tackling issues relevant to social concerns and community development, we bridge the gap between academic studies and real-world applications. Our research spans various fields such as Cooperatives, Economics, History, Philippine Studies, Psychology, and Sociology. We use methods like empirical studies, participatory research, and policy analysis to provide insights that guide effective interventions and promote social fairness.
Additionally, we promote a collaborative and inclusive research culture by working with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups. This ensures our research meets their needs and incorporates diverse perspectives. We also support our faculty and students in conducting research that addresses urgent social issues and advances both academic knowledge and societal progress.
In summary, our mission is to advance the social sciences through high-quality research that is both academically rigorous and socially impactful
