Aspirants from different high schools took the 2nd batch of PUPCET 2026 on February 8, 2026, as hopefuls competed for limited slots in one of the country’s leading state universities.
Applicants shared their preparation strategies, with many saying they “searched for PUP reviewers online,” “took mock tests,” or “studied for a month using video lessons related to the exam.”
During the interview, Marcelo Lubong expressed his dedication to being part of our Sintang Paaralan, saying, “Ang nilu-look forward ko na lang ay maghintay sa resulta ng PUPCET. Sana po [talagang] palarin.”
Despite their preparations, some examinees admitted that they experienced difficulty in certain parts of the test, particularly in the English subtests.
Based on our interviews, the most preferred programs among applicants were Psychology and Engineering. These programs continue to attract strong interest because of their wide range of career opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
On the other hand, parents who accompanied their children expressed strong support and encouragement. All of them said that they were already proud of their children and simply reminded them to give their best during the examination.
Allen Lenesing, a parent, mentioned, “Kaya PUP dahil libre ang tuition at may kalidad ang edukasyon na binibigay ng SUCs gaya ng PUP. Deserve nila makapasok sa isang pamantasan na utak ang pambayad.”
Many parents also emphasized that being accepted into the Sintang Paaralan is already a significant advantage, believing that PUP graduates are among the top choices of employers in the country. This reflects the strong reputation of the university in producing competent and work-ready graduates.
The PUPCET 2026 also aligns with the UN SDGs. It promotes SDG 4 (Quality Education) by providing equitable access to affordable, quality tertiary education, supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by opening opportunities for students from diverse and underserved backgrounds, and contributes to SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing future professionals.
The applicants who took the PUPCET 2026 truly demonstrated determination, discipline, and academic readiness. Tomas Testor, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, said, “Those who rank among the top scorers at the cut-off are assured of their preferred program and will have ample time to confirm their slot before it is offered to others.”
