PUP’s Commitment to Quality and Excellence Assoc. Prof. Mary Joy A. Castillo, Chief, Quality Assurance for Main Campus Section, emphasized that several strategies have been implemented to streamline accreditation with simulations, faculty training, and Quality Assurance Center (QAC) in-house sessions. Internal visits help address campus challenges, while a centralized documentation system simplifies daily operations and securing funding, the institution ensures continuous growth and recognition.
“Dapat lagi nating isipin “Accreditation is every day.” Ibig sabihin, hindi lang po tayo nagpapa-accredit kapag mayroon lang tayong schedule for accreditation kasi kapag chineck naman natin every benchmark statement hinihingi lang naman yung accomplishment,” said Assoc. Prof. Castillo.
(“We should always think, “Accreditation is every day.” This means we do not just seek accreditation when we have scheduled accreditation, because when we check every benchmark statement, it is simply asking for our accomplishments.”)
PUP is pushing beyond AACCUP’s ten (10) program limit to meet funding and accreditation goals. Accreditation is a systematic evaluation process that independently assesses the quality of educational programs offered by universities and colleges. With over two hundred (200) programs, accelerating accreditation process is key to its National Polytechnic University status and securing more resources. Beyond compliance, it strengthens the university’s reputation for academic excellence. The internal Quality Assurance Center (QAC), led by Dr. Sanjay Claudio, spearheads the accreditation efforts for programs across PUP’s Main Campus and its campuses.
