Several PUP alumni have recently been appointed to significant government posts under new administration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Rowena Niña Taduran, an Open University (OUS) Master of Communication (MC) graduate, was appointed undersecretary for legislative affairs at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). She is also a former member of the Anti-Crime and Terrorism Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) Partylist.
Also appointed as DSWD Undersecretary for Operations Group is Hon. Jerico Francis L. Javier. He is also a College of Communications alum.
Benny Antiporda, who received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the Institute of Non-Traditional Study Program of OUS, has also been named the new undersecretary of Solid Waste Management and Local Government Unit Concerns of the Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR).
Atty. Elaine Falo Fallarcuna and Florentino Y. Loyola Jr. are College of Communication graduates now serving as assistant secretaries for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Asec. Fallarcuna earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2012. She will serve under the Operations Group - Statutory Programs. Meanwhile, Asec. Florentino Y. Loyola Jr. earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Communication in 2009. He has been assigned to oversee Specialized Programs in the Operations Group.
