On September 30, 2017, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Law in partnership with the Philippine Association of Law Schools (PALS) held “Caso Discurso”, a free bar lecture for 2017 bar examinations candidates. The activity is said to be one of its kind as the Deans from different law schools served as lecturers.
Dean Ferdinand Tan, former Dean of San Sebastian College, started the lecture by discussing the latest cases on Remedial Law; Dean Anna Maria Abad of Adamson University followed and delivered a lecture on Labor Law jurisprudence; Dean Sedfrey Candelaria then delivered an incisive and comprehensive lecture on Political Law survey of cases; Dean Soledad D. Mawis, the current president of PALS and Dean of Lyceum of the Philippines College of Law, delivered a thorough discussion on Civil Law jurisprudence; Dean Nilo Divina gave his lecture on Mercantile Law subject; and Dean of the PUP College of Law, Dean Gemy Lito L. Festin, capped the day with his expert discussion on Criminal Law.
PUP President Dr. Emanuel C. De Guzman welcomed the participants while the Founding Dean of University of Makati School of Law, Vice President Jejomar Binay graced the event.
