The Research Management Office (RMO), the managing arm for research production, presentation, publication, and utilization under the PUP Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development (OVPRED) of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), held the annual Saliksik Araw ng Pagkilala (SikAP) Awards in recognition of its faculty members for their achievements in various research activities. It was held on January 22 at the Bulwagang Balagtas.
Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development (VPRED) Dr. Anna Ruby P. Gapasin noted the dramatic shift of research culture in the University led by the Muhi presidency and the actions done by RMO which led to more research to conduct and for more researchers to engage into such activities.
(The true essence of research is the production of knowledge. This knowledge is not solely for us but for the benefit of many. It is not enough that your research gets published; what is more important is how we can apply the discoveries we have made through research.)
