Outstanding performances have personified the graduates of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), achieving multiple topnotchers and high passing rates in the March 2026 Licensure Exams for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
In the results released by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) on May 12, the PUP system recorded a 93.58% passing rate in the Elementary Level and 79.19% in the Secondary Level—significantly higher than the National Passing Rates of 56.08% and 73.14%, respectively. This result further strengthens the University’s reputation for academic excellence in teacher education.
Notably, PUP Mulanay, Quezon Campus was named the Top 5 performing school with 50-99 examinees with at least 90% passing percentage in the Elementary category, boasting an impressive 98.08% rate. Meanwhile, PUP Sta. Mesa Campus placed eighth among schools with 100–299 examinees in the secondary level, with a 95.33% passing rate.
Multiple Topnotchers Highlight Continued Academic Excellence
Thirteen (13) new Guro ng Bayan from PUP were recognized as topnotchers by the PRC. In the Elementary Level, Hannah Mae Paguio of PUP Ragay Campus and Abegail Evora Saguno of PUP Unisan Campus both clinched the Top 5 spot with ratings of 93.80%, while Roselyn Sabariza Dulfo of PUP Ragay Campus went 7th with 93.40%. Four examinees tied for eighth place with 93.20%: Gerald Camata Teaño and Ma. Dhaffny Mae Tutaan of PUP Sta. Mesa Campus, Paulo Alde Dayao of PUP Cabiao Campus, and Arabelle Lusing of PUP Unisan Campus. Mary Joy Jacobe Lacson of PUP Sta. Mesa Campus placed tenth with 92.80%.
In the Secondary Level, Aljohn Mañago Vergara stood second with a 95.00% rating, Lester John Carmona Mabajen went fifth (94.20%), Kaye Torres Capisonda then took the sixth spot with a 94.00% score, and Marychris Guadalupe Tolibas Uayan and Kristian Paul Alcantara Espejo placed seventh and ninth, respectively with ratings of 93.80% and 93.40%.
All PUP topnotchers from the Secondary Level category hailed from PUP Sta. Mesa Campus, apart from Capisonda who is from PUP Ragay Campus.
High Passing Rates Reflect Consistent, Quality Licensure Performance
Beyond the topnotchers that the Sintang Paaralan has produced for the 2026 LEPT, PUP campuses attained passing rates well above national averages, highlighting PUP’s standing as one of the country’s leading institutions for aspiring educators.
PUP’s accomplishment in the March 2026 LEPT highlights the Sintang Paaralan’s commitment to producing competent, adaptable educators who are ready to carry its tradition of academic excellence to other institutions. It also advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), through PUP’s mandate to provide accessible, quality education.
