Students from the Open University Marketing Management program recently conducted an impactful outreach initiative titled “Lingap at Kalinga mula kay Sinta” last September 2, 5, 9, 2023 at Handicapped Center Lourdes.
Guided by Dr. Jerielyn V. Reyes, Mr. Aljon G. Pada, and Mr. Rayan Soriano, the outreach aimed to support individuals facing various disabilities, including blindness, deafness, cerebral palsy, and limb amputations.
Ms. Veronica Delima, the center’s lead coordinator, stressed the significance of sensitivity training, covering sign language, braille, and disability simulations.
Activities included blindfolded games, ramp walking, and cane-assisted stair climbing. The students also engaged with the children through singing, dancing, hand painting, and crafting thank-you cards. Their generosity extended to valuable donations for the cause.
Ms. Delima concluded the event by encouraging volunteers to reflect on their experiences, highlighting the importance of daily gratitude and appreciation for blessings.
