The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) has partnered with Nitori Co., Ltd. to offer significant scholarship opportunities to deserving students. A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed together with the College of Arts and Letters (CAL) and the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA), with the goal of empowering students on their academic journey.
“It’s our way of giving back to the community, and we chose PUP because we heard that students here are excellent, deserving, and hardworking.” Mr. Fuhimiko Sato, representing Nitori, stated.
The initial phase of this collaboration will focus on providing scholarships for students enrolled in the CAL. These scholarships will cover various expenses, including tuition, miscellaneous fees, and other educational costs. As a unique aspect of this collaboration, eligible students will also have the opportunity for an immersive experience in Japanese culture.
A scholarship committee will oversee the selection process, ensuring transparency and fairness. Interested students can find detailed information about the application process on the official PUP website or by contacting the university’s scholarship office.
CAL Dean, Prof. Romeo Pena, expressed his gratitude to the Nitori Foundation for opening doors and providing vital support for the success of deserving students.
Nitori is Japan’s largest furniture and home furnishing company, a distinguished retail brand known for its commitment to quality and interior design. It has more than 700 stores across Japan and is set to expand across Southeast Asia. Such collaborative effort continually boosts the opportunities set forth for PUPians intent on making a difference in various fields and are in need of scholarship support.
