To continue raising awareness on disasters resilience, the National Service Training Program (NSTP) and PUP Sandiwa in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Branches and Satellite Campuses, held a webinar on Disaster and Risk Reduction Management on December 19, 2021.
With the theme “Pamantasang Una sa Paghahanda: Pagpapanday sa Kaalaman ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan tungo sa Ligtas na Paaralan at Pamayanan,” the webinar was attended by over 12,000 PUPians.
Dr. Analiza L. Falculan, dean of De La Salle Araneta University-College of Education, graced the event with her discussions on DRRM framework and practice, Hazard-Exposure-Vulnerability Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the RA 10121 and its IRR, local and community-based involvement, and emergency preparedness in the household.
“Since last year, our actions are very limited and restricted but a webinar like this (about disaster and risk reduction management) helps us to be empowered and prepared,” Dr. Falculan said.
An oathtaking ceremony for the PUP Sandiwa officers and representatives for the term 2021-2022 was also held, presided over by Dr. Rovelina Jacolbia, directress of the NSTP.
