The College of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council, which is directly elected by students of the CPSPA, is the highest student governing body within the college, mandated to protect and promote students’ rights and welfare, uplift social awareness and cultivate nationalism amongst students by serving as their legal representation in the stages of resolving grievances, articulating views and opinions, overseeing all department academic organizations (PSS, CPAGS, JPEG & ISEC) in the college, and scaffolding connections within and beyond the university.
The Student Council is made up of students who excel in both leadership and academics – people with good character, sharp intellect, and exceptional leadership abilities. Similarly, it is the council's responsibility to maximize each student's potential by providing relevant programs and projects in the form of Academic Competitions, Webinars, and Lecture Series such as 'Pandayan' (Academic Lecture Series), 'Tayo sa 2022' (Voter Registration Campaign), and 'Answer the Call' (Earth Day 2021 Lecture Series and Project Pitch Competition), which pursue academic excellence.
With the goal of emphasizing young people's monumental role in nation building, the Student Council champions its vast array of progressive campaigns and advocacies that are relevant to uplifting students' sociopolitical awareness and setting the community's critical eye to challenging the status quo (i.e. Academic Ease NFurthermore, the council's priority is to produce like-minded individuals, as it serves as a training ground for aspiring leaders-- the primary recipients of extensive capacity building efforts and leadership training under the wing of the Junior Council Officer Program, an endeavor that seeks to instill a strong culture of responsibility, accountability, and discipline in the untapped crowd of aspiring leaders.
The PUP Political Science Society (PSS), is a nationally accredited youth organization by the National Youth Commission, an academic organization of the College of Political Science and Public Administration - Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The organization believes in the power of a socially aware and involved youth for a better society that aims for a stronger and developed foundation instituted in the individuals. The PSS is committed to bond its members towards achieving academic excellence, and youth involvement by creating paths of engagement, service and development. Training and cultivating young minds and hearts as future bright leaders and discerning citizens is also one of the purposes the organization wants to achieve and be prosper of.
The organization was founded in 1994 and currently has 27 Executive Committees, including this term for 2021. It has been serving students for over 25 years and has remained loyal and committed to its goal of promoting and advancing students' rights and welfare. Through the years, the organization has produced leaders and professionals that have proved their capabilities and skills in their respective fields, not just in the realm of school but, most importantly, in the outside world. The application and experience that has been built up by conducting programs and events that hone the students' intellectual capacities and have a fighting spirit-driven attitude, has been a product and a proven fact of how the organization truly wants to serve the students with dedication and passion.
The Political Science Society organization, as has always been a trademark of implanting and embodying this catchphrase, has engaged in LAKAS, TALINO, HUSAY, which serves as a reminder for students to establish academic excellence and a better ground for student leaders who will take a huge leap in changing for the better.

The Circle of Public Administration and Governance students is the official student organization of the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) under the College of Political Science and Public Administration (CPSPA) of Polytechnic University of the Philippines. As an academic organization, it is the paragon of leadership and governance in the University. For ten years, it has been serving its objective of offering activities based on discipline for the growth and progress of its members for the past ten years. The organization is committed to shaping and producing responsible citizens that embody the ideals of a true public servant and the cultivation of civic responsibility.
As an integral part of society, it strives to engage in issues and act to achieve collective improvement. The year 2010 marked the beginning of the organization’s service. CPAGS started managing and conducting events within the campus and propagating its mission and vision through its first general assembly. The first organization logo was also created this year. The first three years of CPAGS were momentous. It continued conducting elections for young leaders who, in turn, have the potential to lead the organization and its growing community. The year 2014 marked the creation of the 2nd CPAGS Logo. The logo was altered to create a more meaningful design that symbolizes the organization’s mission and vision. In 2016, the CPAGS Constitution was ratified, effectively improving good governance within the BPA community. The year 2014 was also a productive year for CPAGS, as evidenced by the series of successful events held that year.
The organizations’ goals remained the same until 2017, and the service offered continued to influence and encourage the community towards good leadership. There were several important events in 2017 such as the CPAGS General Assembly, the CPAGS ‘Share the Love’ community outreach, and the organizations’ participation in the Model United Nations. From the formation of Junior Officers, CPAGS Chorale, and Dance Troupe, up to the Let’s get Federal and Bantay Boto projects. In addition, CPAGS organized the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Model Congress (PUP-MC), a legislative simulation of various socio-economic and political affairs that gathered youth leaders from different schools and universities to create probable solutions on these matters. 2019 saw the adoption of a good E-Governance System, the creation of a CPAGS Logo supporting LGBTQIA+ rights and the successful run of the Pre-Enrollment Publication Project. True to its dedication to serving its community, the year of 2019 for CPAGS was fruitful, with many opportunities being given to the BPA community through events and partnerships. It is also in this year when CPAGS was revalidated as a Student Academic Organization in the University. Today, the organization faces new challenges in serving its community during the pandemic. Despite the challenges, we continue to find ways to cope and maintain our unwavering excellence.
The beginning of 2020 saw the full implementation of the E-Governance System. Along with this came the Revised Junior Officership Program, First International Partnership with ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN), and the very successful PAgsibol: The BPA Freshmen Orientation. This 2021 marks a year of new beginnings and opportunities for the BPA Community. Activities such as General Assemblies, events with different partner organizations here and abroad, trainings, workshops, and seminars have unified CPAGS and made it a strong and robust organization. We continue to grow and leverage our knowledge and skills. Through the past ten years, CPAGS has grown into an organization that champions good governance. CPAGS, since its inception, has put into heart the concept of service and dedication. 2021 has alsonbeen a challenging year, but CPAGS will not stop in fulfilling its mission and vision with Puso, Utak, Abilidad at Dignidad!
The Junior Political Economists' Guild (JPEG) is the official academic organization of the Department of Political Economy at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Manila. JPEG was established in pursuit of developing its members to be academically excellent in the field of politics, economics, and governance. The organization was established in 2013 to enrich the leadership skills of its members in order to emboss the foreground of political-economic thinking. JPEG aims to solidify the appreciation for the dynamics of political economy as a discipline that is vital for the policy-making process. It aspires to be the country's premier political economic organization by producing intellectually excellent members, competent and credible leaders, and making significant contributions to the study of the politico-economic system by providing solutions to today's pressing problems and elevating the principle of social consciousness for all political economists. From 2013 to -the present, the Junior Political Economists’ Guild has remained steadfast in encapsulating the core values that built the organization. Through various projects, the organization was able to promote the essence of POWER, WEALTH, and GOVERNANCE, which are the fundamentals of the political economy.
JPEG has successfully run a variety of programs and services for students in the department of political economy over the years, with the goal of honing the skills of its members. These programs include: The Semestral General Assembly for the members of the organization, BISIG concert and other outreach programs for our chosen charities and institutions, I-LEAD 2021: Leadership Summit, JPEG podcast entitled: The House of Gold, POLECONARY: A dictionary for political economy students, Educational Discussions for Research and Academic topics, events such as FinChamp: Paving The Way for Financial Literates, Parliamentary Procedures 101, and the flagship project of the organization entitled the DPE National Summit. The organization also offers a variety of services, such as online-based learning materials through online library services, academic content posted on our social media platforms under the Imporium, and the JPEG Safety Net, which focuses solely on academic concerns.
Since 2013, the Junior Political Economists' Guild has also been the home of several umbrella organizations aimed at enriching our students' non-academic talents and skills: JPEG INDAK (organization for aspiring young dancers in the department), JPEG Vocal Ensemble (organization for enriching young musicians in the department), and JPEG Klaryon (the organization's official publication).JPEG continues to be an academic organization that will nurture and advance the culture of excellence in academics, leadership, and other non-academic areas for Political Economy students. JPEG hopes that by doing so, it will be able to produce successful political economists who will assist young people in the betterment of society and nation-building.
The PUP-International Studies Executive Consortium (PUP-ISEC) is a student academic organization that was created and developed for International Studies students at the College of Political Science and Public Administration. It is a group of young scholars who want to promote a multilateral and diverse understanding of international relations. It aims to foster an advanced understanding of various disciplines in the field and cultivate a sense of awareness towards an interdisciplinary approach - making sense of a universal, plural, and truly global study of International Relations.
By engaging in the complex facets of the discipline, PUP-ISEC seeks to be at the center of the collaborative interchange of knowledge production by pioneering a fulcrum for International Studies in the PUP community, further reaching into the various networks and institutions of International Studies in the Philippines - perceiving the field through multiple lenses and tenets of both the dominant and exiled voices in the pedagogy of IR through its young scholars.
The International Studies program was offered by the college in 2018. Thus, PUP-ISEC sees itself taking part in further developing the program to ensure its formidability in the years to come - aligning it well with the roster of excellent programs in the CPSPA. With this, PUP-ISEC is currently a work in progress, with projected full mobilization and official status in the PUP community by S.Y 2021-2022.
Currently, PUP-ISEC enhances the experience of every IS student by providing enrichment activities like round table discussions, virtual hang-outs and small events - further providing a space where wisdom, honor, excellence, and camaraderie can be fostered. Maintaining this, PUP-ISEC will see itself as an effective collective youth organization where its members can freely exercise their skills as conscious and mobilized members of society while providing a fair, safe and nurturing community. By training its members in the multifacetedness of the discipline, PUP-ISEC seeks to enhance the core competencies of its members in the long run - honing skill-sets that will constitute great future diplomatic leaders in the country.
