Exhibiting their might in nearly all sporting events, students and faculty members comprising Cluster 4 finished with 101 and 80 points to capture the overall championship plum in the two week-long University Intramurals held last September 14 to 28, 2012.
In the six sporting events, athletes from the College of Human Kinetics, College of Communication, and College of Education showcased their strength and superior athletic expertise when they finished 1st runner up in basketball, badminton, and chess for the students and champion in Administrative Employees and Faculty Volleyball (men and women).
Completing the Top 4 finishers in the students’ level were Cluster 8 (College of Cooperatives and College of Economics, Finance and Politics), 1st runner up with 70 points; Cluster 2 (College of Engineering and College of Technology), 2nd runner up with 68 points; Cluster 13(Bataan, Cabiao, Pulilan, and Sta. Maria) 3rd runner up with 61 points.
Other teams that fared well in the faculty category were Cluster 2 composed of the College of Engineering and College of Technology, and Cluster 7 represented by College of Arts and College of Languages and Linguistics that finished 1st and 2nd runners up, respectively.
In the administrative teams, White Team (Hasmin Hostel) imposed their will in almost every sporting event after finishing strong with 65 points to cap the overall championship award. Among other teams that showed their athletic prowess and pushed the championship to the limit were the Red Team (Medical and Dental Services Office) and Black Team (Human Resource Management Department) after they compiled 55 and 47 points, respectively.
