The Coast Guard Auxiliary District NCR-Central Luzon- 126th Auxiliary Squadron officers of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) namely Tomas O. Testor and Rodelio Dandan, both from Polytechnic University of the Philippines conducted post-typhoon Ulysses assessment operations with their PCG counterpart, Coast Guard Station Pasig Sub-Station Pureza officers and personnel headed by its commander PO1 Ricky B. Fernando PCG last November 13, 2020 and found no casualties and declared no major damages in the area along Pasig River.
Officer Testor in close coordination with the PUP Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee chair, Executive Vice President Alberto C. Guillo reported that several trees inside the PUP Main Campus in Sta. Mesa, Manila were downed by strong winds brought by Tropical Storm “Ulysses”. PUP buildings and other properties inside the main campus were likewise spared from damages of the fortuitous event.
PCGA is a service-oriented, uniformed volunteer organization established in 1972 by the Philippine Coast Guard. The PCGA is committed to support and assist the PCG in the promotion of safety of life and property at sea, the protection of the marine environment and its resources, the conduct of maritime search and rescue, the maintenance of aids to navigation, recreational safety and such other activities that enhance maritime community relations which include civic action and youth development through the National Service Training Program (NSTP), and other related activities.
