PUP’s flagship extension program Education on Wheels has been shortlisted for the Access, Diversity & Inclusion Award under the 2023 QS Reimagine Education. Out of a staggering 1200+ submissions across 17 awards categories, this project emerged as one of the top 30%.
“Malaking karangalan pong makilala ang ating initiative para mas mapalawak ang access to education dito sa ating bansa. To be recognized by a global award-giving body is also a badge of honor for PUP. Good job sa ating EOW Team at sa lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa advocacy nating ito,” University President Dr. Manuel Muhi shared when he received the news of this achievement.
Initiated with the aim of providing education to underserved communities, the Education on Wheels project employs innovative methods to reach students in remote areas. EOW has already deployed the bus-turned-classroom in the slums of Tondo and expects to expand its reach as the project progresses.
As part of the shortlisted initiatives, the project is entitled to use the official e-badge provided by QS Reimagine Education across all web, social, and printed channels. The badge proudly displays the project’s achievement and emphasizes the significance of its impact in the education sector.
The EOW team also has the opportunity to further showcase their work at the Reimagine Education Awards & Conference, which includes a 2-minute video pitch hosted on the virtual platform, full access to the virtual platform, in-person conference, and Gala Dinner, as well as a five-minute in-person elevator pitch at Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi, from December 11–13, 2023.
